5✨ I don’t read poetry often, but I can still appreciate the artistry of it. To start, A Drawing was easily my favorite. I don’t know why, maybe it’s the kind of memory I want my kids to carry with them but I loved it.  While I can’t specifically relate to the warmth and love that pours out of Home, I see everything I want for my family in it and I loved every poem. Even the the ones that carried more melancholy. Despite the more difficult emotions they bring... Read more...
The Subterranean Protocol
✨4.5✨ The craft? The writing? The story? The premise? Astounding. I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect going into this, and I’m glad for that. At every step I was surprised and turned around. It was a rollercoaster of immersive underground escapades. From the unique characters to the horrifying events, there’s not a moment where you feel like anyone involved is safe. Even when safety is presented, you’re left wondering if it’s just an illusion. The characters are individual, adding their own life to the story and making you want... Read more...
Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver
Honestly so messed up and funny. A great introduction to dark romantic comedies for readers new to the genre.  Read more...
Emergence by Dean Moss
Dean Moss brings a unique voice to SciFi and the world of alien invasions. Details come rapid fire and reads like a movie, getting right to the point of the plot. The opening scene sets us up in New York with our protagonist, Jude Black. Life is normal with the potential for upward momentum in his career, but not for long. Everything that happens delivers on that premise and delivers in spades.  Dean Moss mastered and maintained a tone of suspense through the entire novel, leaving the reader wondering what... Entwined With Fate by Shai Lenore
Caleb and Cayson’s disgust with Hotdog is objectively the best part of this book. The number of times I snort laughed is innumerable.      Oh my god, Penny. Go the fuck off, sis. Read his ass to filth and Kobe his entitled prick ass right into the trash. I love the number of strong take no shit women present in this book. It was inspiring and everyone should have friends like these women.      I know a lot of people don’t like the specific trope this book ended with but... Read more...
Through The Folded Stars by Jenna Avery
From the opening scene to the cliffhanger... Woof.  The prologue set us up well and was interesting enough, but was too vague for me to consider it our real starting point. Chapter one, though? Hooked. Immediately.  At first, it was a little off-putting that our main character, Saira, is a virgin. It makes sense, though, and narratively, I understand. Society has just ingrained a specific world view into my head, and I have to make the conscious decision to not be a judy bitch. And in the end, her inexperience... Read more...
Worth Every Moment by Rae Ryder
I got into reviewing specifically to boost my chances of being accepted as an ARC reader for Rae Ryder and Vivian Mae. Vivian Mae, looking at you. But thanks to my tireless efforts or someone’s oversight, this is my moment to shine for Rae Ryder. The hype is so real.      Absolutely nothing is surprising about Seb after that origin story.      Rae Ryder pulls through with the emotionally crippled main character again except this time it’s a twofer. It’s like she signed a deal with the devil to unequivocally... Read more...
Best Kept Secret by Shann McPherson
“I hope they have dental insurance.” CUE ME SCREAMING AT THE TIPPITY TOPPITY OF MY LUNGS.      We love Emily. We love a woman who doesn’t play with misogyny.      The drama… Just *chefs kiss*     LOGAAAAAN!!!! The man that you are. I am genuinely obsessed. We love a man who stands on business and doesn’t play around. More than that, he has so much depth, so much so much so much. He’s so likable and relatable. Genuinely one of the best book boyfriends I’ve ever read.      And Millie?... Read more...
Blood & Thorns by Taylor Aston White
Ladies and gentlemen, HER.  Anyway, I present to you another ARC review: THE MMC IS FRENCH? Cue my most giddy of screeches. We are so underrepped in Romance despite having THE most romantic language and Paris being the city of love. (It’s not, don’t go there. There are much much more romantic places in France to visit, just throw a dart at the country and you’ll find a city more romantic than Paris.)     “Touch her again and I’ll kill you where you stand.” Call me Arabella because, baby, I... Malicent by Cassandra MD
I want to vomit. Are you kidding me.  Okay, let’s start.  Cage. That’s it. That’s the review.  But really, I love that we don’t just see Millicent being a bad ass in those caves, we also see her being thrown into the pits of hell to claw her way out. It’s not that she’s so overpowered she has no reason to feel fear, it’s that she’s faced such horrors that she fully understands fear doesn’t serve her. Having characters that just show up and show out is fine but it... Read more...
This Violent Light by Bree Wilde
I love love loved Tessa, oh my god. We love a girls girl and I wish we had gotten more of her.  Squealing, screaming, kicking my feet. The build up. The tension. The longing. It’s perfectly executed and I was living for it.  Excuse me? I think I would die for Cora. Are you kidding me? Her loyalty is UNPARALLELED and I have nothing but love and respect for her. I also love that she’s a weird, freaky lil bitch because same, sis.  More than a little feral for Sebastian,... Read more...
To Burn In Rapture by R.A. Raine
I received To Burn In Rapture as an eARC and was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked R.A. Raine’s writing style. This was my first dip into her work, and it didn’t leave me feeling like I wasted my time the way a lot of other novellas do.  However, I would have liked to see more world building and character turmoil. A lack of growth is fine for a novella, but I didn’t really get the sense that Sabine struggled in any real way. She was very numb and... Read more...
