This Violent Light by Bree Wilde

I love love loved Tessa, oh my god. We love a girls girl and I wish we had gotten more of her.

Squealing, screaming, kicking my feet. The build up. The tension. The longing. It’s perfectly executed and I was living for it.

Excuse me? I think I would die for Cora. Are you kidding me? Her loyalty is UNPARALLELED and I have nothing but love and respect for her. I also love that she’s a weird, freaky lil bitch because same, sis.

More than a little feral for Sebastian, because hello? “Be a good girl for me.” Our girl said praise kink, and our boy said hello to his new personality. Love to see it.

I like how emotionally vulnerable Grace was while still being strong and fierce. It’s hard to write a character that does both so well without seeming wishy washy or insufferable, but god, Bree Wilde did it. Grace is bubbly and bright but she’s not a caricature of those traits the way so many characters like her come across. She has so much depth and such an uncomfortably relatable range of emotions and shows them how she feels suits her best.

Overall, I would have liked just a bit more world building and more of an exploration of the magic system, but the book was so well paced, I can’t really complain too much. It really just comes down to how truly interested I was in this book and these characters. I wanted more, more, more. If this were to be/is going to be a series or universe, it would be so easy for the author to expand on the world building and magic system.

Regardless, it’s safe to say I would greedily devour anything Bree Wilde released. Her writing style is perfect and at no point was I feeling like I missed something or needed further clarification. God, I just had so much fun reading this book.
